We gave Remedy another shot, but I'm not sure it's worth the trip -- which is not that far, but there are tons of bars and grills that are closer to home. The food is pretty good, but they haven't yet nailed the service, and that's after 2+ months. When we arrived, there was nobody at the front desk. Or even milling around close by. It took at least 5 minutes and me wandering around, this close to suggesting we go over to Anyway's, before someone finally appeared. Like I said, the food is tasty enough. The pretzel bites were buttery, the cheese sauce yummy. My burger was a little past medium (which is what I ordered), and the bun a hair too big, but it was juicy and good. My homemade potato chips were a little overcooked. Service was okay, but not great, and the waitress disappeared a lot. When there are so many bar/grill type places around, you really have to stand out either in food, service, or preferably both for us to keep coming back. Remedy just doesn't quite make it.

My thirst and hunger was remedied; but I wasn't really impressed with Remedy Pub. The bar and dining room are spacious and filled with new tables and booths. There's plenty of parking too. I came here with my friend Courtney C. on a Friday night, and the place was near empty. Remedy is still new, so it's only a matter of time before it catches on in the area. The Three Floyd's Cheddar soup was the best part of my meal here. Even though it was sweltering outside, I couldn't pass it up. It was super cheesy and the consistency was perfect. I then had the Berry Goat Cheese salad ($11). I expected the salad to be slightly bigger for the price. The salad was flavorful and fresh though. The menu contains a typical bar assortment of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. It took me awhile to decide on what I wanted, but mostly because the items seemed a little overpriced (I think the fish & chips was $16) and weren't that intriguing. The beer selection was decent, but the waitress only rattled off a few common, uninteresting beers, that were on tap. Maybe things have changed since those first few days though? I ordered a Stella and was content with that. Their bottle selection is slightly bigger, but watch out: the Ace Pear cider was a whopping $7. I give Remedy credit for being on top of some things. Even though they're a new establishment, they are apologetic for being out of certain items, and they have taken the time to post these items on a chalkboard on the wall. Remedy is an OK place. I expect this place will be filled with locals and those who work nearby, which will keep them afloat for quite some time.

Remedy is becoming one of our favorite go to spots ! We love sitting by the fireplace now that it has started to get cold. The food is tasty and the drinks are great. The bartenders always have great suggestions for drinks. Can't wait until we go again!

We decided to try out this newer pub on a recent Friday evening. As we pulled in, we noticed the parking lot was spacious but quite empty. As you walk in, there is a bar area on the right and a separate large dining area. The kitchen has no doors and opens directly to the dining area which seem odd because you can hear the employees gossiping, eating, and just milling around as there probably wasn't much to do. When we got there at 7:30pm, there was one other party of 8 just finishing up. By 8pm we were the only party of 3 in the dining area. In the bar area, there was a live two person band and maybe 4-5 customers. Apparently the band doesn't have much of a following. They have three large flat panels in the dining area which were showing college basketball. For that size dining room, you'd think there would be a few more screens. Menu has some appetizers, a couple soups, a few entrees, but mostly burgers and sandwiches. They didn't have more standard appetizers like wings which seemed odd. The chilli was OK but barely warm. The classic pub burger was OK and reasonably priced. Beer selection was OK, but not that extensive. We ordered a captain and diet but they were out of captain. Server was nice but inexperienced. When asked if she had any recommendations, she just started rattling off every other item on the menu. I think there are other options within the same proximity that offers better food, better service, at similar price points. And it was just strange being the only party in the dining room during Friday dinner rush. We were not impressed and won't be going back.

I've been here twice now, both times during lunch. We didn't drink so I can't speak to the beer menu, but I like their food menu. 1st Visit: Pretzel Bites app, I had the Fish & Chips with fries and the husband had the California Turkey Sandwich with waffle fries and we split the mac & cheese side. Presentation is great. Pretzel bites were great! Fish & Chips were good, not the best I've ever had but they were good. Husband really enjoyed the California turkey and waffle fries. Mac & Cheese was not great. Tasted like it came out of a (not Kraft) box. For a "gastropub", I expected something a bit fancier, especially since the presentation of everything else was so nice. Maybe look into a Bleu Cheese Mac & Cheese? Or Buffalo Mac & Cheese? Something with a bit of a wow-factor? For the app and our 2 meals and the additional side - it was about $30, so totally reasonable for lunch out. 2nd visit during a work lunch: Fried Pickle app (it was OK, I don't know if I love the batter which may be why I thought the Fish & Chips were just good since it's the same batter). I had the BBQ Bacon Burger (The Regus) with steak fries, coworker 1 had the pulled pork sandwich, coworker 2 had the chicken caesar wrap. Burger was very good, no complaints. Coworker 1 really enjoyed the pork, but she said the bun was a little stale and it started to fall apart a bit, so she ended up just eating the pork with a fork. Coworker 2 said the wrap was OK (she didn't love the dressing), but she loved her regular fries. FRIES - At this place you can get regular fries, waffles fries, steak fries, or sweet potato fries. I've tried the regular, waffle, and steak - all delicious. Coworker 1 had the sweet potato fries. She said they were pretty good but missing something? She wasn't sure what it was. SERVICE - I've been very happy with the service both visits. You can tell that the owners are looking for feedback and want it to be a good experience. Our servers were great both days and they try to accommodate you when you ask for something different. (I wanted crispy onion straws on my BBQ burger instead of sauteed onions and they obliged). EXTRAS - They seem to have additional space for banquet rentals that aren't part of the regular restaurant. I noticed an additional room down the hall near the bathroom and there are stairs going up, though I'm not sure what's up there. Overall, I will definitely be back. I'm looking forward to them smoothing out the kinks. I noticed that they have some items showing on their website menu that are not on the menu when you visit (Salmon comes to mind). I hope they stick around. I think they're a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Arrived about 7:15pm on a Saturday night. There were about three other tables with patrons. By the time we were done, about 8:15, we were the only ones left in the dining area. Cheese soup was good, but would have liked it to be hotter when it arrived. Wife's turkey sandwich was anything but "inspired" and looked like it came out of a vending machine. Processed sliced turkey without the promised avocado slices. My Shepard's Pie was different, but not bad. Server said it was different, but offered no further explanation when we were ordering. Nice beer selection. I had the special of the month. Since Trademark closed up last fall, I was looking forward to a casual alternative in this area, but it does not look like Remedy is getting enough business to be sustainable. I know they have only been open for a month, but I would think twice before I booked a Chistmas party there, not sure with the doors will still be open by then. This location seems like it has been a real challenge over the last few years.

Stopped in today with a couple of co-workers to try it out. The decor of the place is one of it's many awesome features. It makes you feel invited into someones lounge. The staff was helping and inviting. We had an awesome bartender who was able to explain the menu questions we had. She recommended the meatloaf sliders for an app. And they defiantly didn't disappoint. Our server was also super helpful in entree selections I had the prime rib. It was tasty and full of flavor. The place did just open and I figured there would still be some kinks, but over all one of the best restaurants in the area. It's something new and isn't like the boring anyways or gulivers. It's a place you can go to with your family or even with your friends for some nice craft beers(which aren't all that expensive) I'll most certainly be bringing more of my friends and family here to try it out! Good job Remedy!

This was our third and last time here. Three of us just had dinner this evening...we more than doubled the previous number of patrons. The calamari breading was brittle and dry; when I used my fork to pick up the pieces, the breading broke apart, showing a tiny fragment of calamari under the hardened breading. The pretzel bites and cheese sauce were ok (cheese sauce has only about 2% real cheese and not even much starch to add body -cheap formula) For a place that specializes in burgers, the two burgers we ordered were dry and tasteless. I ordered mine med-rare...they both came out medium. The "onion" was two small rings...although there were two healthy slices of tomato. I asked for ketchup and was given a small white porcelain cup with about a tablespoon of ketchup...sent it back and was given another tablespoon of ketchup. Coffee was very good as was the whiskey bread pudding. The prior two times we were there, the food and burgers were good, especially the Essex burger. Yet, again, hardly any patrons. But this meal was deal-breaking for me. With other great burger places in the area such as Anyways, DMK and Rock Bottom Brewery, take a pass on this place. Given the other comments about the lack of patrons, I see why.

A great looking but a bit pricey menu and a total make over for tis great location. The place looks superb and I hope the best for this place. They will add more televisions for sports days and the pub is a welcome addition to the area. The service was top notch and they have several great beers on tap. The look of this place is on par with any ritzy gastropub in the loop. The large parking is the same for the old Costa restaurant although there is no exciting street scene except for cars passing on boring Summit Avenue. Another strong stand alone big bar in the ever increasing and impressive crowded Roosevelt Road bar scene in this area.

    1. I was only there to see my dad's band. 2. The bar ran out of Bud Light! Probably the most popular beer in America! And this was on a Saturday night! 3. The nachos my friends ordered were way overpriced for what we received. The portion was super small for the price and probably had three chips in it if we were lucky. When we asked for extra chips we were told "sorry we're out of chips but I can bring you potato chips instead." WHAT?? 4. I think the only positive comment I have is that the bartenders seemed nice and didn't take to long to serve which is a major problem for some places although it wasn't super busy on this night.

2nd time here. It wouldn't let me give zero starts sooo...Not impressed. Food was mediocre at best. Service just ok. Manager, I think... He was wearing a pancho & drinking at the end of the bar, seemed less than interested. I think I would've had a more lively time at a funeral. What a depressing place. Yikes! I feel bad for whoever put lots of money into this place. (Galways owner).

Kitchen a little slow. Two cold sandwiches took 25 minutes or so...when no one else was really in there, but the food was good and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The fries are easily enough for two people though. Decent selection of taps, Dogfish, Stone and Lagunitas level craft. Definitely would go back.

Three stars because my turkey burger was quite tasty, however the service was not the greatest. Arrived on Saturday night around 7:15 and there were approximately 10 people in the place, including the wait staff. My husband's band was playing , and other than the band, and friends of the band, the place was deserted. The main dining room was completely empty, and continued to be empty the entire night. It's Saturday night! The food is decent - you should have customers. Our waitress took our orders, but returned to tell me that they were out of the wine that I wanted - it's a bar, on Saturday night, and you're out of wine? Ok. Our food arrived quickly, so I can't knock that, and the quality and price were good, but after bringing the food, the waitress was non-existent. I could have walked behind the bar and fixed my own drink, and I don't think anyone would have noticed. My advice - step up the service level, and do some advertising. Perhaps it's a location issue, as one of the people in our group mentioned that a few other restaurants have come and gone from this spot.

Due to the thoughtful response after a few months we would try The Remedy again. The second time we had a much better experience. Not only was the service outstanding but each food item we tried was good. Their beer selection is still mediocre at best, with nothing you can't find almost anywhere. We will be coming back and hope to have more good things to say.

Food is ok. It took the kitchen 80 minutes to get us burgers. That was a dealbreaker.

Tonight was my first and last visit. My party consisted of 4 people. We were immediately seated by a pleasant individual that may have been a manager and I'm only guessing by the clothing that he wore. My daughter and I went to go wash our hands especially since we just finished bowling prior to getting there, and there was no hand soap in the ladies room. The soap dispenser was bone dry and had been empty for some time. Being in the health care field that is a huge strike in my book. You cant tell me the employees never use the facilities while at work. Thank god for hand sanitizers. We go to sit back down and wait and wait. Same gentleman that sat us put together 3 tables next to us obviously for a larger party coming in he failed to notice we had not been helped yet. The large party was seated and all of a sudden a server showed up to say hello and hug half of people at that table right next to us. I understand we may have not been in her section or however they work that. However I observed 2 other servers that ignored us as well. As soon as the hugging and chatting started we all stood up and put on our coats to leave. Only on the way out were we noticed. My brother in law told the manager that after 25 minutes no one came to our table and he got absolutely no response. Just outside the doors another woman told us the same thing and she had to send her meal back because it was over cooked. It is sad because I'm a local and I believe in supporting local businesses. The reviews I have read all said service was slow but food was good. Slow I can deal with. If they were super busy I can understand , there were only 7 tables at the time. But being completely ignored and then when told why we were leaving and still not caring. ...I'll take my money elsewhere.

Nice place, nice atmosphere, clean, lovely menu, great prices, great live music on a Saturday night! I was hoping, walking in, that the food and service lived up to my expectations. Sadly, they did not. Not enough wait staff, took 20 min for waitress to ask about drinks. Then once we ordered, 45 min to get the food! The food itself was just OK. We split the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Meatloaf Entree. The rest of the menu looks really good though. No soap in the bathroom. Won't make a special trip to go back.

I've been here several times for anything from dinner and drinks to seeing my friends, Chicks with Picks! I love this place! Great food, good prices and the atmosphere is great! I live close by and definitely will be coming here again!

My husband and I stopped for dinner last night as we noticed the place was open as we drove by. I consider this a lucky find. As noted they have only been open a week or 2 and are still ironing out some of the kinks, nothing major though. We order the onion rings as a appetizer and were not disappointing. The rings were lightly battered and fried to perfection. My husband loved the dipping sauce. I was just ok with it, but the rings were still very good. I ordered the Essex burger medium rare - It was delivered cooked to perfection. It Maybe one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. My husband ordered the Windsor burger medium rare. Again is was cooked to perfection. We both ordered the homemade chips. Again very good. I can't speak to the beer as I didn't order any. Will definitely be back for the food.
